Denzel Washington (John Q. Archibald)

Denzel Washington, who was recently honored with the AFI's Actor of the Year Award for his performance in Training Day, has accrued an impressive body of work. His recent credits include Jerry Bruckheimer's Remember the Titans and The Bone Collector, directed by Phillip Noyce. He received a Golden Globe Award and his fourth Academy Award nomination

for his performance as Rubin "Hurricane" Carter in Norman Jewison's The Hurricane. Another critically- acclaimed performance was his portrayal of Malcolm X in Spike Lee's biographical epic, Malcolm X, which also earned him an Academy Award nomination.
